MailWalker is regularly updated. These updates include new functionalities, interface and performance improvments and stability and security fixes.

A updated software on a regular basis allows you to take advantage of recent improvements and an optimized operational status. We recommend you to perform updates immediatly when available.

To determine if an update is available for MailWalker, you do not need to leave the software: a detection system is included in the software.

Automatic update

The easiest way to check the availability of an update is to ask MailWalker to make this verification on every startup.
To configure this behavior, you should go in the software options, General / MailWalker category. Check the option "verify when launching" for MailWalker systematically check this on startup:

Manual update

If you choose not to enable automatic verification of update availability you can do it manually:

  • you can also use the "Online update" button in the ribbon Tools tab:

Running update

When the checking system has detected that an update is available for your version of MailWalker, you will be notified by the following window:

Running MailWalker update

You then have the option to:
  • Download and install : if you choose this option, the update will be downloaded and installed immediately. At the end of this procedure, MailWalker will restart automatically.
  • Download only : if you only download, you can continue to work with MailWalker. The update will be installed when you will exit the software. When you will launch MailWalker next time, it will be the new version.
  • Do nothing : if you make this choice, the update will not be downloaded nor installed. So this window will reappear at the next availability checking.

Tip

As you can see, the update process is relatively simple. We advise you to actively use it to always be sure to use the latest version of MailWalker...
